Weird On The Half Shell.
Mood:  spacey
Now Playing: It's not what you think, its much worse!
Topic: Quiz
So took a quiz at this site, and you can too, to see how weird I am. I'm not normal (anyone who knows me would say "this is new?") and I'm not very weird either. Huh.

You Are 50% Weird

Normal enough to know that you're weird...

But too damn weird to do anything about it!

Topic: Randomness Alert!
So I got to see the Superbowl. It wasn't that great, I kinda wish I did work that night. It wasn't the worst Superbowl ever either, that was the one I fell asleep towards the end of. I think it was the SuperBowl the Ravens won. It was either boring or I was really tired.

A note to Mick Jagger, please, if you want to retain any fans, please refrain from wearing any shirts that don't cover up your tummy or your arms. Thank you.

Skating With Celebrities: Dave "Some Like It Hot" Coulier and Nancy Kerrigan are sent home. Three pairs left, and you know what that means? There will be an episode of "padding" in the near future. I am still sticking with Bruce and Tai though. Yeah, I'm hopelessly hooked on this show.

Raw: Mick Foley makes his quarterly appearance when John Cena announces he will be the special referee for his next match. Raw will be on next week next Thursday cause the Dog Show will be on USA network next Monday and Tuesday. I'm not surprised, it was expected when WWE moved RAW from Spike TV to USA Network.

Upcoming in the next few days: A list of TV episodes that are favorites of mine. They may not be your favorites. You can always go make your own list, I won't stop you.

Monday Blog
Mood:  chatty
Now Playing: Song Of The Day:
Topic: Randomness Alert!
Skating With Celebrities : Todd Bridges and partner are out, and now Deborah Gibson and Kurt Browning are out. At first I wasn't going to blog the names of eliminated pairs the night it happens but I changed my mind.

There was a highly tramatizing moment on the show tonight: Dave Coulier was in drag. UGH!! Please, FOX, I don't want to ever see Coulier in anything that looks like a dress ever again! PLus Coulier is doing impressions. If he does anything resembling Bullwinkle the Moose or Popeye I'll be tempted to steal his ice skates.

So you might or might not be wondering who I'm voting for? So far I like Bruce Jenner (despite the fact that he was in "Can't Stop The Movie....I mean Music") and Tai Babilonia.

Royal Rumble : Will be seeing this Tuesday night (WWE Pay per views always reair on Tuesday), so this pretty much means I won't see the State Of The Union. I would be pretty much watching it for the commentary afterwards anyway. Tucker Carlson will be on. No I'm not watching him but one of his MSNBC colleagues (you know who I am biased towards!)

Superbowl XL : Turns out I'm working in the morning and will be home to see the game. Hoo yah!

Movie Sign! : I plan to see "Final Destination 3" at the theater when it comes out in a week or so. I will review it in a future blog

Oscar nominations come out tomorrow morning. I'm pulling for "Good Night And Good Luck" and all those involved.

I have no illusuions that Brokeback Mountain will be the Oscar favorite this year, but this past weekends Screen Actors Guild awards prove to me that anything will and can still happen. "Good Night And Good Luck" will be out on video in the next month or so, I highly recommend it.

Sports Stuff
Mood:  chillin'
Now Playing: Sports and uh stuff!
Topic: Randomness Alert!
Superbowl: Yesterday my picks for the Superbowl were Denver and Carolina. What happened? The exact opposite - the Steelers and the Seahawks are Superbowl bound instead of either of my choices.

Since my new job has me working Sundays, its not out of the question that I will be working Superbowl Sunday. While I am not a huge football fan, I will usually watch the big game of the year. I have been watching it ever since 1992. Up till now I've only missed it once (well the tail end of it) due to work obligations, so this is first time I will miss the bowl game almost entirely. I think I will be home after the half time show.

So what's your point, you may be asking by now. All of this blather is to tell you one think: I think the Steelers will win the Superbowl.

And to the ad people who make the ads for the Superbowl: If you have any Cialis type ads, please hold off on them till the game is almost over! No one wants to see those! A small amount of people complained about Janet Jacksons booby, but I imagine that a far larger amount were unhappy with the Cialis ads.

Skating with Celebrities: Ok I called this cheesy but good last week, but during the elimination portion of the program tonight, I was on the edge of my seat. Then I sat back cause damn that is not comfortable. Next week, another show.

WWE: You know WWE isn't interesting when I skip the first hour of RAW to see 24. I don't think I'm missing much though, the first hour is normally made up of who's going to be in the last match of the second hour. Bring back good ol' JR! I like Joey Styles, but Jonathon Coachman has got to go!

Some Friday Blathering
Mood:  lazy
Now Playing: Skating Opinion And Such
Topic: Randomness Alert!
So I saw Skating with Celebrities. I watched the whole hour so I can make a justifiable opinion on it. I came to this conclusion, I loved it. I expected it to be cheesy, and it was a little bit, but it's the good kind of cheese. Scott Hamilton, one of the hosts, has always been one of my favorite figure skaters. The celebs did well, I did say in my previous blog that I gave them credit for even trying. Course then again I'm only judging on what I see, the technical aspects of judging are way over my head. Next week will be more difficult, as can be expected.

One complaint though, two of the judges you can already peg for being almost copies of certain American Idol judges. John Nicks is a certifiable "Simon Cowell" (boy did the audience boo this guy, but he had a few good points) and Dorothy Hamill fits in the "Paula Abdul" role (they booed her once or twice so shes not quite the perfect Paula). The last judge, Mark Lund, is Randy Jackson by default.

Will I watch again? It's iffy, I think. Why? The next airing is on at eight o'clock next Monday, the same time I watch a certain Mr. Keith Olbermann!

Oh well, If I want to find out who's out, I guess I will have to make that small sacrifice. Or not... thank god for the midnight re-air on MSNBC!

By the by, notice the link under "Links worth taking a look at", its a great movie review site. And when you sign his guestbook, say Nancy sent you. (What did you think I was going to say? Large Marge?)

Skating With Celebrities
Mood:  spacey
Now Playing: Ice, Ice Baby
Topic: Reality Shows
I'm not a fan of reality shows, at least not the competition related ones. I will watch Dog The Bounty Hunter on A&E once in a while. Its educational though, it teaches you that if you ever get in trouble that you don't want this guy and his posse after you. But other than that I don't watch them.

Tonight I am sacrificing the early showing of Mythbusters in order to see Skating with Celebrities. Or barely celebrities. Where does Todd Bridges fall? Tonight, the answer to that will be "on the ice" I imagine. I could laugh at this but because I'm too chicken to try ice skating I give them credit for even trying it.

I know I could probably watch Dancing with the Stars but I can barely stand watching ballroom dancing specials on PBS, I don't think I would last through this one, even though WWE Diva Stacey Keibler is involved with it. (Or not, I don't keep track to see if shes been voted off or not)

I'll give it a looksee and blog about it tomorrow. Or not. I'm exhausted just looking at them.

EVERYTIME YOU CRY -- OUTFIELD

I'm not the one to tell you what clothes to wear.
I'm not the one who talks about your hair.
I'm not the one to show you how I feel inside.
I'm not the one to say how much I care.

Everytime you cry just a little bit, cry just a little bit,
When you say good bye I die just a little bit, cry
just a little bit more.

I know its late, I guess I should have called today.
I know you're tired of waiting by the phone.
I know you said, you just don't know how long you wait.
I know that you can live your life alone.

Everytime you cry just a little bit, cry just a little bit,
When you say good bye I die just a little bit, cry
just a little bit more.

In a world where there's no one to come to.
In a world where you think there's no one but you.

(guitar solo)

But everytime you need someone to dry your eyes,
You call my name and know that I'll be there!

Everytime you cry just a little bit, cry just a little bit,
When you say good bye I die just a little bit, cry just a little bit.

Everytime you cry just a little bit, cry just a little bit,
When you say good bye I die just a little bit, cry just a little bit.

Everytime you cry just a little bit, cry just a little bit,
When you say good bye I die just a little bit, cry
just a little bit more.

Celebrity Progeny Of The Hollywood Stars
Mood:  cheeky
Topic: Baby Boom
I don't really care much about Angelina Jolie or Brad Pitt. They've made some ok movies but nothing really earth shaking. If you've seen either Troy (Pitt) or Alexander (Jolie) you would know that aside from good looks and the ability to memorize script, they really don't bring anything to the table. (Yeah they got Oscar nominations, but only one win between them.) If you remember, and its hard not to, the media spent most of last year talking about the movie they made together (Mr and Mrs Smith, which wasn't all that great), and whether nor not they were sharing each others airspace. Eventually we find out they must have been sharing things other than airspace, cause Angelina now has a bun in the oven. Joy to the world! (I'll get around to a celebration, I promise.)

This isn't the only baby news of the week though. If you follow WWE like I do (and you might agree with me how dumb it's become) you would know that Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, daughter of Vince, is also with child.

So what does one have to do with the other? Other than a baby, not much, but I figured its a little fun I can have with the blog. Let's see what our candidates for parents of the year have in common.

Stephanie and Triple H (Hunter Hearst Hemlsley to non WWE fans):

Married?: Yes.

Potentially Scary Body Part To Inherit: Hunters nose. Seriously, look at that thing.

Will kid be well off?: Yes! Soon to be two time grandpa Vince runs multi-million dollar business, so unless he/she is rebellious - kids already born with a cushy job.

Potential Names: Vince, Linda, maybe not Eric.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie:

Married?: No, but it may or may not be in the future. Consult your tabloid of choice for "breaking news".

Potentially Scary Body Part To Inherit: Angelinas lips, if they are real, but buy a lot of baby lip balm and chapstick just in case.

Will kid be well off?: Unless mommy and daddy have a few stink bombs movie-wise, the kid should be all set. Hopefully he won't have to get a job wearing a chicken suit. Plus the baby will have siblings to play with.

Potential names: Lets see, Pineapple, Chevette.... oh real names? Jon. Jamie. Armand Hammur Pitt maybe?

Movie Reviews
Mood:  happy
Now Playing: Mini Reviews
Once in a while I will review some movies. Not long reviews, and I promise not to spoil the end of the movie. I will leave that to the movie trailers.

Wedding Crashers: Pretty good, but I could have lived without the "sexually confused brother" of the two female leads. It adds nothing to the story.

King Kong: The new version is the first time I've seen any version all the way through, so that does mean something. It's three hours long, but it doesn't feel that way.

Fun With Dick and Jane (new version) : Very funny! To tell you anymore would ruin it. Jim Carrey and Tea Leoni are in this one.

Fun With Dick and Jane (1976 version) : A lot of the things are the same in the new version as the original version, except for small details, but its OK. I liked the new version better. George Segal and Jane Fonda are in this one.

Movies to look forward to in 2006, for me so far:
Underworld 2
The Poseidon - the remake of The Poseidon Adventure.
X-Men 3

Don't you hate....
Mood:  incredulous
Now Playing: TV DVD's
I would buy more dvds of TV shows if not for one thing; anytime I buy one the show starts being rerun on TV. I bought season one of Angel and TNT picked it up, and I haven't bought a season of it since. I know that the reruns are different than what the sets provide but figure why spend then money when you can almost see it free. Now if they would show it at times other than 7 a.m. but thats a topic for another time.

For a Christmas present to myself I bought season one of House MD. Happily rewatched two episodes the other day. During Law and Order Criminal Intent I spy an ad for, guess what, House MD. They will start showing them next year. Second season only a few episodes in and they are already syndicated. Good for anyone who doesn't have Fox, not so good for anyone who forked over money for the first season, like me.

Perhaps it won't be so bad, at least I can bask in the glow of the extras that come with the set.
