The Emmys were good. I think musical numbers should be ixnayed in the future, but overall Conan did a good job. A lot of the things he did were good, course half of them will be forgotten, along with who won Emmys, by next month. I can't wait to see who does it next year.

The following is my predictions for who would win, and how accurate it was. Long story, short version: I didn't do so good. The first number is what I get right, the second what I get wrong. Keep in mind this is only the acting related awards.

Drama Series:
Should win: House.
Actual Winner: 24

Nancy score: 0-1

Comedy Series:
Should win: Yikes. Never seen any of the above. Scrubs.
Actual Wiiner: The Office

Nancy score: 0-2

Miniseries:
Will Win: Into the west
Should win: Into the west
Actual Winner: Elizabeth I

Nancy score: 0-3

Made-for-TV Movie:
Will win: Flight 93
Should win: Uhhhhh yeah. Three HBO movies. Hmmm. Flight 93.
Actual Winner: "The Girl In The Cafe"

Nancy score: 0-4

Variety, Music or Comedy Series:
Will Win: Jon Stewart
Should Win: David Letterman.
Actual Winner: Stewart

Nancy Score: 1-4

Actor, Drama Series:
Will Win: Martin Sheen - a nice goodbye gift
Should win: Kiefer Sutherland. If Sutherland was not on the show, I would not be watching 24 otherwise.
Actual Winner: Sutherland

Nancy Score: 2-4

Actress, Drama Series:
Will Win: Kyra Sedgwick is getting a lot of love right now.
Should win: My love goes to Mariska Hargitay. She puts a lot of soulfulness and emotion in her character.
Actual Winner: Hargitay

Nancy Score: 3-4

Supporting Actor, Drama Series:
Will Win: William Shatner. Mr Shatner is fantastic in this role.
Should win: Need I say it? Denny Crane!
Actual Winner: Alan Alda

Nancy Score: 3-5

Supporting Actress, Drama Series:
Should win: Candice Bergen. Ms Bergen is back and funnier than ever. I personally think both Greys chicks will split the vote.
Actual Winner: Blythe Danner

Nancy Score: 3-6

Actor, Comedy Series:
Will Win: Tony Shalhoub. Hes the closest lock right now IMHO.
Should win: Tony however should sit out this time and let someone new win.  No this is not a vote for Kevin James. Mr Sheen? Perhaps. Give it to Larry David. The speech should be good.
Actual Winner: Shaloub. Ok that might have been too easy.

Nancy Score: 4-6

Actress, Comedy Series:
Will Win:  Debra Messing, her show is over.
Should win: But giving it to someone cause their show is over could also apply to Lisa Kudrow and Jane Kaczmarek. My vote goes to Stockard Channing.
Actual Winner: Julie Louis-Dreyfus. She mocked the "Seinfeld" curse on the air. Yeah, lets see this show last another year first.
Nancy SCore: 5-6

Supporting Actor, Comedy Series:
Will win: Sean Hayes. Almost a given
Should win: Jon Cryer. Show Duckie some love!
Actual Winner: Emmy shows Jeremy Piven some love instead.

Nancy Score: 6-6 - oooh a tie.

Supporting Actress, Comedy Series:
Will Win: Megan Mullally, she'll get to parade it around on her new talk show.
Should win: Jaime Pressley
Actual Winner: Mullally

Nancy Score: 7-6

Actor, Miniseries or a Movie:
Will win: Jon Voight
Should win: Donald Sutherland - A father son win would be cool.
Actual Winner: Andre Braugher. Thief was a tv series yet its under "mini-series" which is odd to me.

Nancy Score: 7-7....tie is back!

Actress, Miniseries or a Movie:
Will Win:  Helen Mirren, one of my all time fave actresses
Should win: Helen Mirren
Actual Winner: Mirren. I've been a fan of since her "Prime Suspect" series.

Nancy Score: 8-7

Supporting Actor, Miniseries or a Movie: Denis Lawson, "Bleak House (Masterpiece Theatre)," PBS; Hugh Dancy, "Elizabeth I," HBO; Jeremy Irons, "Elizabeth I," HBO; Robert Carlyle, "Human Trafficking," Lifetime; Clifton Collins Jr., "Thief," FX Network.
Will win: Jeremy Irons
Should win: Robert Carlyle

Nancy Score: 8-8

Will win: Alfre Woodard
Should win: Cloris Leachman. This is also the catergory that has a certain nominee who it turns out is only in the movie long enough to blink an eye. How that happened, I'm not sure. They say quality over quantity, but I think you gotta be in something longer than a few seconds.
Actual Winner: Emmy avoided possible a small firestorm in awarding Kelly Macdonald, a newcomer to me anyway, the Emmy. What a nice surprise.

Nancy Score: 8-9

In the end picture I got a little over half wrong. Not bad, since I haven't seen much of these movies or shows. When they do come to DVD I have no excuse to check them out.

Next up, the Golden Globes!
