Beyond Friends Final Episode

"Our House"

Writers note: I've had a lot of fun writing this series, and now it is time for it to have an end. I hope you all enjoyed reading this as much as I have enjoyed writing it for you.

Thanks for making this fun, now without further ado, the finale episode. It was gonna be two but I figured it would be a lot more better if it was one whole episode.

"Living in a box"

Chandler and Rachel walked up the stairs to their apartment. They had been gone for what feels like forever. Chandler and Rachel had finally gotten married in Vegas after some weird setbacks to boring to even get into again. After the wedding, the gang surprised them with two tickets to Hawaii. The honeymoon was wonderful. It was the first time that Rachel had been on an island in a year. She had gone there to get away from it all but then ran into Ross and a killer hurricane called Emily.
"We had a great time." Rachel said as they kissed coming up the stairs. They had little luggage. Monica brought home Rachels wedding dress to be preserved in a plastic bag for all enternity.
"It's really a shame." Rachel had said at the time. "Gretas dressmaker had said this was a dress you can wear at almost anything else, given a few alterations."
"I know, but now Monica can have something to wear to her wedding someday." Chandler said. "Now all she has to do is meet the right guy."
"Yeah." Rachel said. "But promise me, no more matchmaking. At least till we're ready and settled in."
"Deal." Chandler said and opened the door. "Wow, the old place."
"I know."
"Why does it seem so much smaller?" He asked as they were about to go in. "Ooops, I almost forgot."
"What?" Rachel asked.
"This." Chandler put down his bags and took Rachels bags and threw them in. Then he bended his knees and picked up Rachel in his arms. "Let's not forget tradition."
"I totally forgot." Rachel said as he carried her over the threshold. "But then again we did this at just about every doorstop we came to in Hawaii. I'm pretty sure we got really annoying after a while!" She laughed. "You're not gonna carry me over every doorstep are you?"
"I enjoy it." Chandler said. "But once we're old and gray, I'll have to hire someone to do it."
Rachel laughed as he set her down. "We ought to check the messages. It says here that we have 15."
"Would be a good idea." Chandler said. "Let's put our stuff in our room first." Chandler picked up the bags and led Rachel into the room. He almost paused to bring her over the threshold again but she laughed."
"I think we're gotten as much luck as we're gonna get from this thing." She smiled.
"Okay." Chandler said and led her over.

A few minutes later, after they put the clothes away and did some other things they emerged from the bedroom.
"How long were we in there?" Rachel asked. "Theres 20 messages on the machine now."
"I didn't hear the phone ring."
"That makes two of us." Rachel said. She ran over and hit the rewind button on the machine. It made a little rewinding sound and made a long beep when it reached the end of tape.

First message: "Hi! Remember me? Janice! Oh my god! I can't believe you got married! I just want to say congrats and good luck! Bye!" (She signed off with her tradmark laugh)

The second and third messages were from Chandlers dry cleaner. Something about threatening to set a suit on fire if he didnt come to get it in a week.

Fourth: "Hi! This is Phoebe! Uh I forgot what I was calling about, see you later."

The fifth through seventh callers were Phoebe again, who eventually did remember why she called.

Eight was Wesley and Alison, with baby in background.
"Hi! This is your boss! You're fired! Heh. Just kidding. I was kidding honey. Anyway hope to see you soon. BTW I didnt sit at your desk while you were gone so if anythings missing, don't look at me!"

Nine: Hi, this is your landlord. Please call ASAP.

Ten through 13 were more, now urgent calls from the landlord imploring the duo to call soon.

Fourteen: This is Monica! Rachel has my bag! Call me soon, or I'm not gonna have anything left to wear!

Rachel glanced over in their room. "No wonder I didn't recognize that bag."

Fifteen through 19 were hang up calls. Twenty though was Ross.
"Hi, its Ross. Hope you come back soon, for some reason I'm getting calls from your landlord!"

Twenty was the most important one though.
"Hi. this is your landlord. Where are you?"

"What is that all about?" Chandler asked.
"I don't know." Rachel said. "The others can wait, it seems like the landlord called five minutes ago."
Chandler got out his little black book and looked for the number. While he was looking the phone rang. Rachel snapped it up.
"Hello?" Rachel asked.
"Hi." The voice said. "This is your landlord Kenny. Is it possible that I can speak to Chandler?"
"Oh hi!" Rachel said. "It's him." She said to Chandler. He put the little black book away and took the phone from Rachel.
"Hello?" Chandler said.
"Hey. Where you been?"
"Oh a little something called a wedding and a honey moon." Chandler said as Rachel put her head on his shoulder. "Why?"
"I been calling you for days!" Kenny said. "I have news for you. It might not be good."
"What?" Chandler asked looking at Rachel.
"Someone has bought the building. Some rich business woman has bought the whole block actually." Kenny said. "Shes gonna knock down the block and set up a office complex. Your apartment will be used to make a parking structure."
"Oh my god." Chandler said looking at Rachel. She had a questioning look on her face.
"You have a week to move out." Kenny said. "As of now you are no longer a tenant."
Chandler was speechless. "Uh well thanks for telling us."
"It was the least I can do." Kenny said.
"Where will you go?"
"Oh don't worry about me. I'm going to barbados!" Kenny said and hung up the phone.
Chandler hung up the phone. He rubbed his face with the palm of his hand.
"Whats wrong?" She asked. Chandler shook his head. "Chandler, will you please tell me what that was about?"
"Someone has bought this building." Chandler said.
"A new owner? Another new landlord?" Rachel groaned. "Is that all?"
"Nope." Chandler said. "The new owner bought the entire block. They are knocking down our building to make a office complex and a parking garage." Chandler said. "So technically we're standing in someones future parking space." He explained.
"Oh my god." Rachel said. "How long do we have?"
"We have to be gone by the end of the week." Chandler said.
"Oh my god." Rachel said and started to sob. "What can we do?"
"What else can we do?" Chandler said. "We have to start making phone calls."
"Right." Rachel said. "Someone has to help us."
Chandled dialed the phone.
Monica picked up on the first ring. "Hello?"
"Hi, its us." Chandler said.
"Hows the happy newly weds?" Monica smiled.
"Not so good."
"Why?"
"Can we come over? It's too complicated to talk about on the phone." Chandler said. He looked at Rachel.
"Sure, come on over." Monica said.
"Ok." Chandler said. "Will you be allright?" He asked Rachel as he hung up.
"I think so." Rachel said. "Just when we thought it was safe to be normal!"
"Everything will be allright." Chandler said. "If anyone can help us, Monica can."

Monicas

"Do you know who it was that bought the building?" Monica asked.
"I didn't bother to ask. Didn't seem to be important." Chandler said.
"What will you do?" Monica asked.
"We got to find a place." Chandler said. "Luckily we managed to find a motel to get into for a few days." He said.
"And your stuff?"
"I called Ross." Rachel said. "He's gonna help us put some stuff away in storage."
"He got some moving people over there right now." Chandler said. "It was great of him really."
"I'm so sorry guys. It's so sucky." Monica said hugging Rachel.
"I know." Rachel said. "Can you help us."
"Well I have to tell you something." Monica said. "Ross called us when you were on the way over, and I have something to tell you."
"What?" Chandler said.
"I'll tell you on the way over to Ross's place." Monica said. "I haven't been out all day."
"Okay." The duo said and followed them out.

Ross's place

Chandler, Rachel and Monica got out on Ross's floor. She knocked on the door and Ross opened it for them. Rachel and Chandler lingered in back of them.
"Did you bring them?" Ross asked. Monica nodded. "Good."
"Rachel!" Ross said bringing Monica over. "Okay guys, close your eyes."
"Why?" Chandler asked.
"Trust us ok?"
"Ok." Chandler said. He and Rachel closed their eyes. They felt themselves being led into a room.
"Open your eyes." Ross said.
Chandler and Rachel opened their eyes.
"Oh my god!" They said together.
"It's all of our stuff!" Chandler said. They looked around, all of their belongings were there in just about perfect order.
"Surprise!" Ross and Monica said.
"Whats going on?" Rachel asked.
"I'm moving in with Jennifer." Ross said. "She and I are really getting along good. I was gonna put this place up for sale but Monica called me about your dilemna. I had the place transfered into your name." He said to Rachel. "I also pulled some strings to get your stuff moved over here so late." Ross said. "I found out who bought your building." He said. "Linda."
"Linda?"
"Yeah. Her hair is growing back nicely but this was her last ditch effort at revenge at you. I managed to convince her to leave you alone."
"I'm just glad we never brought her over here!" Rachel said.
"So you like?" Monica asked. "Ross really worked hard to get it done in time for you to see it." She smiled. "It's not perfect but you can make it perfect."
"I don't know how we can thank you." Chandler said as they hugged Monica and Ross.
"We only ask one thing. That you be happy."
"We will." Rachel said.
"We'll leave you now." Ross said. "Jennifers waiting for me downstairs."
"I gotta go too." Monica said. "We'll see you later?"
"Yeah." Chandler said and closed the door. "I can't believe they would do this for us!"
"I know!" Rachel said. "But what are friends for if not to help each other."
"We have great friends." Chandler said kissing Rachel on her forehead. "My wife has great friends."
"My friends are your friends." She said.
"Do you want to set up the place some more or do we do it later?" Chandler asked.
"Do it later." Rachel said. "Much later. Unless we're planning on going anywhere?"
"I'm going nowhere." Chandler said. "At least not without you."
"Same here." Rachel smiled as they went to their new room. "Same here."
