Courteney Cox as Monica

"Every picture tells a story"

"When did these come in?" Monica said looking at a picture.
"Last week. Rachel wrote this form out ahead of time." Chandler said. "She had this address on the pictures. So they came here."
"She didnt expect to be married when she got back." Monica said. "Ooh cool. Hurricane damage."
"I know, its like heres before and heres after." Chandler said switching the photos. "Before, after, before, after." He stopped. "Ok I'm being annoying."
"Very much so." Monica agreed. "Hey there's slides."
"Great. I got a projector here somewhere." Chandler said.
"Why do you have a projector?" Monica asked.
"For presentations. And stuff." Chandler said. "Of course since I'm the boss now, I can make other people do them for me." He clapped his hands together. "I'll get it."
Monica looked at the pictures while Chandler set up the projector. "Did you call Rachel about her pictures coming in?"
"Of course I did. Why shouldnt I?" Chandler said. "Its not like I was gonna hold them for ransom or something. If you ever want to see yourself again you have to do this for me? Thats crazy." He said.
"Ok." Monica said. "These pictures are nice. It reminds me of the time when we were in Las Vegas together, and almost got married."
"Yeah." Chandler said. He remembered it.

They were both drunk when he suggested it. "Do you want to get married Monica?" He asked.
"Sure." Monica said. They hurried to one of the 24 hour wedding chapels that populated the area. Only one problem. There was such a big line that night, 30 couples in all. By the time the priest was ready for them they were sober and thinking clearly.
"I don't think this is right." Monica said. "When I wanted to get married I wanted it to be with all our friends around, and not bad Elvis impersonators." She sighed.
Chandler nodded. "I guess this is it. If we're not gonna get married, then theres not much farther we can go."
"You're right." She said. "It was great though. Your first stable relationship, and you did great. I think you're ready for you destiny woman, whenever she comes around." "Yeah." Chandler agreed. "Can we go back to being friends though?"
"It'll take awhile." Monica said. "But I think it can be done. Ross and Rachel are pretty close to being friends again. Its possible." She extended her hand. "Friends?"
"Friends." He took her hand and smiled. "How about some coffee?"
"Sure." She said.

Monica looked at Chandler as he set up the projector. "You ever wonder what would have happened?"
"For a while I did." He said. "But this is much better. We already did see each other more than your average married couple." He flipped a switch. "Ok, Ross and Rachel, this was your honey moon." He said out loud.

The Geller residence

Rachel tapped a couple of keys on the computer. After telling Ross she had the job at the magazine, he had been sweet enough to get her a spanish computer program. So at least when she started next week she would know a little more than she did now. Which was barely more than nothing. She felt a hand on her shoulder.
"So hows it going? Can you give me a english translation of Macarena by sundown?" Ross joked.
"This is pretty easy stuff." Rachel said. "Now all I gotta do is say it over the phone a million times a day. I ought to have it down pat by summertime." She said.
"Chandler called?" He asked. "There was a message on the machine."
"Yeah. I'm a creature of Monicas old habits. She filled out her photo development cards before she took pictures. So she can get them back ASAP." Rachel explained. "They ended up at Chandlers place. At least thats where I thought I was going after I came back." She looked at him.
"Things changed." Ross said kissing her on the forehead. "I got another meeting to go to tonight." He said "I'll be home late. Don't wait up for me."
"I'll be here." Rachel said. "With my luck we can have our first anniversary in Spain, and with me speaking the language like a native." She chuckled.
"See you later." "Hasta La Vista." Rachel said. "I already knew that one."
Chandlers Place

"Has Rachel told you about her new job?" Chandler asked Monica as they flipped though slides.
"No, not really. She told me she was gonna work at the Spanish version of the rap magazine the Source." Monica said. "I asked how she was gonna do that. She flunked spanish in high school. Ross got her some computer game. Plus she'll be saying the same spanish text every day, so it wont be hard after long." She said.
"Ross wasnt mad about it?"
"Apparently not." Monica shook her head. "It was either have a new job or start working on a family. For reasons unknown, they arent talking about babies right now."
"Understandable, I guess. Ross already has a son." Chandler said.
"I gotta go." Monica sat up.
"So soon?" Chandler said. "We've hardly made a dent in the hurricane damage reel."
"Rachel should be coming over to collect those reels." She said. "It wouldnt be fair of us to watch them all. After all, she and Ross are bound to show them to us. We'd have to act very surprised."
"I'm a bad actor." Chandler said. "Ok, I'll put them away." He said and disassembled the slide projector.

The Geller Residence

Rachel put the computer away. She thought for a minute. "Chandler should still be up." Rachel thought. "I can runover and get those pictures." She turned off the lights and left the loft.

Chandlers Place

Chandler was pushing the projector back into the closet when he heard the buzzer at the door. He closed the door.
"Coming!" Chandler called.
He ran over and opened the door. It was Rachel.
"Hey there," She smiled.
"Hello." He said. "Oh you come for the pictures?"
"Yeah." Rachel said.
"Some of them came in slide form." He said. "I don't know if that was what you wanted or not." "I must have checked something wrong on the thing I sent with them." She said as Chandler handed her a package.
"Monica was here earlier." He said. "I guess she wanted a peek. I couldnt stop her."
"I stopped doing that a long time ago. I've learned Monicas gonna do whatever shes gonna want, not matter what."
"Thanks for coming to get them." Chandler said. "I was afraid of getting them all messed up."
"By Joey naturally."
"Natch."
"Thanks for saving them." She said. She opened the door. "See you around." Rachel said. She left.

The hallway

Rachel looked at the door.
"God, it was so awkward in there." She thought to herself. "What was up with that?"

Chandler pulled a picture out of his pocket. It was one of Rachel by herself standing at the railing on the boardwalk. She was looking at the camera and smiling. He closed his eyes.

As Monica and Chandler broke up in Las Vegas, he remembered something. Monica was saying. "It was great though. Your first stable relationship, and you did great. I think you're ready for you destiny woman, whenever she comes around."
"Yeah." Chandler agreed. His attention wasnt on her though. He watched Rachel walk in back of her. Monica must have thought he was listening to her, because she didnt notice.

"Did I like Rachel then and just didnt know it?" He asked himself.
