"The times, they are a changin'"

"Ross, I'm going to see Joey!" Rachel said going out the door. Ross didnt give a reply. He was asleep on the couch.
Rachel popped in the car and started it. She had to talk to Joey about something she had been putting off for a while. Something thats really been bugging her.
She picked up the phone. All the friends numbers were on the speed dial. Chandlers was prominently first, then Joey. She hit the button for Joey. It rang once before he picker it up.
"WXYZ is gonna pay me wacky money!" He said loudly.
"What?" Rachel said.
"Sorry. I signed up for this radio contest, you got to say that to win." Joey said.
"Are you that hard up for money?" She asked.
"Are you usually that blunt?" Joey said.
"Yeah. I'm coming over. Don't go anywhere." She said.
"If you werent Rachel, that would mean something else to me." Joey chuckled.
"See you in a few." She hung up.

54th street

Chandler and Kathy walked along the wet streets. He had walked over to her place and picked her up. He had theater tickets and reservations for that night. Monica had talked to him earlier that night and had warned him about getting involved with Kathy again.

"Phoebe said the other day she got some major freaky vibes from her, and I don't mind telling you I feel them myself." She had said on the phone when he announced his plans.
"I dont know. Maybe I'm not giving her a fair chance." Chandler said.
"Chandler, honey, I know this is some kind of rebound thing. You know it too. It would be the best for you if you broke it off as soon as possible? Ok?"
"Ok, ok." Chandler said as he hung up.

They arrived at the box office for the play Chandler had tickets for.
"How did you get these tickets so fast?" Kathy said. "This plays been sold out for weeks."
"The theater sent a rep to the offices. Had the tickets with him." Chandler said showing her the tickets.
"A guy from the theater?" Kathy said taking the tickets. "Let me see." She examined them for a second. Chandler grew uneasy with her examination. She gave the tickets back.
"Sorry to say hon, but you been swindled." Kathy said.
"What?" He looked at the tickets.
"You bought them from a scalper, except you didnt know it." Kathy pointed out the tickets. "This is from last year. The date on it should have been a red flag from the start." She said. "He didnt let you see the tickets untill after you gave him the money right?"
"Yeah." Chandler said.
"Then there you go. He didnt want you to see the tickets, after all they were the key in his scam. You were just stupid enough to fall for it." Chandler looked up sharply. "It could have happened to anyone." She smiled.
"What do we do now? Short of sneaking in." Chandler smiled.
"We can still go to dinner." Kathy said. "Let's just walk to the restuarant. After all, we're in no hurry."

Joeys place

Joey answered the door for Rachel. She hugged him as she entered.
"Joey we have got to talk." Rachel said.
"About what?" Joey asked. "Do you want a drink?"
"Sure." Rachel said.
Joey walked to the fridge and got two sodas for them both. He poured them on ice and brought them back in.
"What do you have to say?" He asked.
"Well, uh, you better sit down." Rachel said.
Joey sat down.
"Joey, I'm gonna let you go as my agent." Rachel said. "I know you been looking for stuff for me, but right now you should be concentrating on your own job serach."
Joey nodded at her.
"I havent been able to find anything else for you. Its probably just as well." Joey said.
"I thought you'd be hurt." Rachel said.
"Me?" Joey sipped his soda. "Nah. I'll be allright. It took me a while to realize that I have to get another job. You're married now. Your bills are paid for. Nothing to worry about it."
"Maybe I can help you." Rachel said. "After all my meager showbiz experience should do something for you."
"I don't know."
"Come on. What could it hurt? If all else fails, we can use a butler around casa de geller anyway." Rachel said.
"Oh thanks Rach!" Joey said. "Although, I don't do windows." He pointed out. Rachel sighed.

McDonalds

Chandler gave Kathy her Happy meal. He settled down himself with two big macs and fries.
"Sorry that dinner thing didn't work out." Chandler said.
"At least you didnt get your table from a scalper." Kathy laughed. "I'm sorry that wasnt funny." She paused. "No, its hilarious."
"Gee thanks." Chandler said.
"I'm sorry. For real this time." Kathy said. "I love eating here in a ball gown."
"You're not wearing a ball gown." Chandler said.
"Well not for long. I AM coming upstairs tonight, arent I?" She made a little growl. "Right?"
"Wrong." Chandler said.
Kathy looked deflated. "How come? I thought we were together and at this point we would christen the new relationship. Or the bed so to speak."
"Not tonight. I'm not ready yet." Chandler said.
"Oh, pooh." Kathy said. "Ok. Just this once."
"I gotta work tomorrow." He said uneasily. "I want to go alot slower. Remember where I ended up when i kissed you for the first time?"
"Yeah, in a wooden box." Kathy said. "Ok, you made your point. But by next week, I expect you to have bough some condoms by then." She smiled.
"Great." He said. "I've been granted a little freedom by the govenor." He thought.
"Now dig in. Mcdonalds food is bad when its cold and congealing." She said.

Later

Rachel got in her car and drove from Joeys house. She decided to take a different route. She drove blissfully for a while then looked around. she had managed to float back into her old neighborhood. Where Chandler now lived alone. He saw him and her, Kathy along the sidewalk. They were dressed up. Too dressy for a simple walk. Rachel pulled over and watched from her parking space. Kathy stood on tiptoe to kiss Chandler. She kissed him passionately but somehow he was holding back. Or So Rachel thought. She watched him as he opened the door to the lobby and walk inside. She stood out there for a second then walked away.
"Kathy is so dumb." Rachel thought to herself as she drove away. "Can't she see that he doesnt want her?"

After a minute or so, Chandler took a peek out the window. He thought he saw something out there. He shook his head. Must have been his imagination.
