"Working"

Chandler checked his answering machine yet. No message. No messages from Kathy that is. Ever since he took her to the fertility clinic, he had waited to hear if she had any news about whether or not she was pregnant. He hadnt seen her since then.
Chandler took of his coat and tossed it on a chair. He nearly jumped out of his skin when the phone rang.
He picked it up after the first ring.
"Hello?" He said, trying not to sound weird.
"Its me, Kathy. We need to talk." She said.
"Sure, you want to come over?"
"Nah. Central Park." She said. "I'll see you in a half hour. I got something to tell you."
"See ya there." Chandler said. Then she hung up.
"She wants to talk? What does she have to say to me?" He asked himself. "You're talking to yourself again." He picked up his coat and headed for the door.

The Gellers

Rachel blew air out of her mouth as she flipped through the channels on her tv. Being married was weird. Now she didnt have to work she got to stay home and catch up on all of her soaps. One of them, unfortunately, was Joeys show but since his character was killed off, she didnt watch it again. If he was going to go back on the show, she would consider watching it.
Well think about it at least.
The phone rang next to her. She picked it up, not taking her eyes off the new episode of Wheel Of Fortune.
"Geller residence." She said with a bored tone.
"Its me Chandler. Kathy just called." Chandler said. There was static in his voice. Pocket phone obviously.
"Is she pregnant?" She asked snapping to attention.
"She wont tell me," Chandler said. "in fact she wants to meet me at Central Park."
"Why Central Park?" She asked.
"Neutral ground?" Chandler guessed. Rachel made a weird noise. "That was just a guess you know."
"I know." Rachel said. "Good luck."
"Thanks." Chandler hung up.
Rachel tapped the antennae reciever of the phone on her chin.
"Hmm." She said. She placed the phone back on the cradle. Enough excitement for now. Back to being bored.

Central Park

It was a nice day Chandler thought as he strolled through the park. A lot of people were out roller blading or riding their bikes. Winter was a officially over. Kathy didnt tell him a specific place to meet in central park. Just to be there in a half an hour. It was now 35 minutes since they had last talked.
"Where the heck are you Kathy?" He asked under his breath. He felt something grab him around the waist in a weird sort of hug. He spun on his heel and his culprit released. Couldnt be a mugger. They're not that nice.
It was Kathy.
"Hey." She said.
"Hi." Chandler said.
"I should have asked you to meet me over by the taco bar." She said. "You hungry?"
"Famished." He said realizing he hadnt eaten all day.

After getting their tacos they chose a picnic table next to a playground. A little boy looked at Chandler and walked away.
"I've got something to tell you." Kathy said pulling his attention away from the boy. "About the clinic visit."
"Yeah." He said. "Have you gotten a check up? Pregnancy test or something?"
"I have." She said. She sighed and looked wistful for a moment. "It didn't work."
"Oh my god I'm sorry." Chandler said taking her hand.
She sniffled a tear back.
"Thats ok." She said smiling through the obvious disappointment. "Its not like you found out you have a teflon womb." She looked at him. "Turns out I can't have kids."
"Oh my god." He said.
"Stop saying that!" Kathy said. "Look at me. I found this out like Saturday and already I'm moving on with my life. Course I had to close my account at Baby Cartier but thats a whole different story."
"I dont know what to say." Chandler said.
"You dont have to. You were there for me when I needed you. I'll never forget that." Kathy said. "In fact i have been thinking. We had a nice time that time in the clinic. Sure it smelled like a hospital, but I've been in stranger places."
"Huh?" Chandler asked not quite catching on.
"What I'm saying is that I think we out to give each other another chance." She smiled. "We had a bad break. Maybe we can try again?" She blushed slightly.
"So what do you say?" Kathy asked.
Chandler stared at her.

The Gellers

Rachel picked up the phone again, expecting Chandler.
"So what'd she say?" She asked without saying hello.
"Rachel?" The female voice said.
"Oh Allison!" She said sitting up. "I'm sorry I was expecting a man on the phone." she confessed.
"Don't we all." She paused. "Well not us anymore we're married." She said.
"So how are you? What can I do you for?" She asked clicking the mute on the tv. Marilyn Manson on tv. Better seen and not heard.
"I have a favor of you to ask. You know of the Starlite foundation?" She asked.
"Sure, kinda like the Make A Wish foundation." Rachel said.
"Thats it. Every once in a while we take some sick children out for a good time. But this year unfortunately we've had a last minute change of plans. We need someone to entertain all these kids. Do you know anyone who could help?"
Rachel thought for a minute. "Joey took a magic course two years ago. Hes out of a job right now, but I'm sure he could use something to do."
"Thats great!" Allison said.
"I can come help him too, I just gotta call him." She said.
"You gotta let him know by next week." Allison said. "I'll call back with the time and place. Thanks for the help! I owe you Sooo much!" She said, Rachel said her goodbyes and hung up the phone.
"Oh Joey, I hope you remember your stuff!" She said to herself.
The phone rang again.
"Hello?" She said.
"Its me. Kathys not pregnant." Chandler said.
"Oh no, I'm so sorry." Rachel said.
"Me too, I think." Chandler noted.
"How come?"
"Why do I think she used the pregnancy ploy just to see if we can get back together?"
"Too many soaps." Rachel said. "She wants to get back together with you?"
"Not in so many words. She says we have couple possbilities." Chandler said.
"What did you say?" Rachel said.
"I told her I'd think about. But I was thinking hell no." Chandler said. "What should I do?"
"This is your choice." Rachel said. "Its up to you."
"You're right. You're always right." Chandler said. "But don't let that go to your head."
"Thanks. I'll keep it in mind."
