"Boys and girls"

Chandler took a deep breath as he climbed the stairs to Kathys apartment. She lived up on the upper east side. She didnt have as nice digs when he last knew her, as a struggling actress. She must be doing well with herself, Chandler mused as he reached the door to her apartment.
"Ok, here goes everything." He said reaching out to knock the door. The door suddenly opened.
"Oh hi!" Kathy said.
"Hey you," Chandler said. "were you going somewhere? I can come back later..."
"Oh no, do come in. In fact, I have to admit I was expecting you." Kathy said as Chandler strolled in.
"How did you know?" He asked as she closed the door.
"Womens intuition." She responded. "That and I called Rachel to see if you were home. She said you were on the way over."
"Then I guess I you know what this is about?" He said.
"Sure." Kathy said. "Oh where are my manners? Have a seat." She guestured to the couch.
Chandler sat.
"I can think of only thing that would bring you over here, besides my charming Martha Stewart deco." She said.
"Yeah I came about the uh...well you know. Hmm." He said.
"The baby question." Kathy said. "Well I've waited close to a month. Out with it Bing. Will you have my baby or not?"

The Geller Place

Ross walked up behind Rachel.
"What you doing?" He asked looking over her shoulder.
"Oh nothing important. Just the dishes that have to be done." Rachel said with her hands in the water.
"Do they have to be done now?" He asked looking at her.
"Well if we plan to eat off of them again, we have to have them clean." She said dunking another plate. "So we dont have the aftertaste of beans and hotdogs in , well, say lasagna."
"Oh really." Ross said.
"Yeah."
"I think the dishes can wait." He said scooping up Rachel.
"Hey, watch it there, I got wet hands." Rachel squealed as he brought her over to the couch. He laid her on her back and kissed her on the nose.
"I hear Chandler went over to Kathys." Ross said. "It must meant hes made a decision."
"Yeah, it must be." Rachel said. Ross laid his head on her shoulder. "Do you think about kids?"
"Me?" He lifted his head. "Sometimes I do, I guess."
"I think I'd like to have kids someday." Rachel said.
"Me too. I love you, and I would love any children as equally, perhaps even more. But do we need to think about children right now?" Ross asked. She looked at him.
"Years ago when we first dated you had our whole future mapped out." Rachel said.
"It was a great map. We managed to get lost somewhere on the trail to our perfect future." Ross said. "I don't think its a crime to think about kids later down the road. After all, we've already got Ben..."
"You've got Ben." She corrected. "I'm just the step mom. I just want for someday to have our own limited edition Ross and Rachel baby." She said. "Do you know what I mean?"
"Sure." Ross said. "But right now its time for us. We just got married. Let's make a little time for us right now. Ok?" He kissed her on the lips.
"Ok." She smiled.
There was a knock at the door.
"Who could that be?" Rachel said as she got up.
"Stork baby delivery service?" Ross asked. Rachel looked at him from the doorway. "Its possible. It happens in cartoons all the time."
Rachel opened the door. It was Monica and Alison.
"Hey guys whats up?" Rachel said.
"We have a problem." Monica said.
"It seems you went and got married before we had a chance to throw you a bachelorette party." Alison continued. "What a nerve!"
"I'm sorry, it was the islands. Its a place where you have to get married or you're not considered hip." Rachel said.
"Anyway me and Alison, we are going to take you out for a night of fun." Monica said. "Your post wedding bachelorette party."
"I'm kinda busy." Rachel said pointing to Ross who was watching tv.
"You kinda have no choice." Alison said. "You can either put on your light coat or we can put it on for you."
"If you put it that way." Rachel said. "Ross, I'll be back in a little while."
"Or maybe not at all." Monica said.
"Whats that supposed to mean." Rachel said as she followed the girls out.

Kathys Place

Kathy wasnt pulling any punches.
"You're certainly blunt about this, arent you?" Chandler said.
"I've thought it through. Then I thought about it some more. And I know I want you to be the father. You are the most perfect guy I have ever met. It's the truth. I would have tried before but you were with Rachel. I tried to use that to my advantage but you know how that worked out."
"Of course. You kinda seemed like a soap opera villianess then too." Chandler said.
"Hey, I wanted you." Kathy said. "Now I want something else." She came closer to him. "So whats it going to be?"
"I guess I have to say yes." Chandler said, mostly out of fear. What would she have done to him if he had said no? He didnt want to find that out.
"Great." She sat down next to him. "Now..." she touched his cheek. "...we can consider the old fashioned way of making a baby..."
He gave her a look that read, "Not a chance."
"Or we can consider invitro. Thats fine with me."She backed off.
"I gotta go." Chandler said. "Before you get me to sign over the lease to my apartment or something." He said making tracks to the door.
"Oh I wouldnt want that rat trap of yours." She waved off. "The first appointment is next week." She said matter of factly.
"You made an appointment before I told you my decision?" He asked.
"I knew you would say yes." Kathy said. "Get over it, its done."
"You know I dated you cause you were a nice woman. Someone can actually fall in love with you. But somehow you've turned into this twisted woman." Chandler said. "When did that happen?"
"I dunno. Maybe when we broke up I was more mad myself for sleeping with that guy than I was at you for insinuating that I had before I actually did."
"Ok, thats perfectly understandble. See you later." Chandler said and left.

Downtown

Chandler took a train back home. He didnt really feel like walking in the snow that seemed to be spitting on him tonight. He got off the train on his stop and saw a familiar face.
"Rachel?" Chandler asked.
"Hey!" She said. She hugged him.
"How are you?" He asked.
"I'm fine." Rachel said. "Monica and Alison are partying with me tonight. Sort of a post wedding bachelorette party."
"That sounds like fun." He said.
"How did everything go. At Kathys I mean." Rachel waved her hands. "I'm going to do it." Chandler said. "I'm going to give her a baby. Or at least try. With the track record in my family the kid either turn out to be like me, or my mom, or god forbid like my dad."
"You never know." Rachel said. "What made you agree to go along with this?"
"I thought, I'm never going to meet anyone special enough to want to have my baby and be with me, that is without throwing up everytime they see me. I might as well try this. The worst that can happen is that one of my guys don't make it."
"What if that happens. She could make you do it everytime she wants a kid. Like going to a reliable atm machine." Rachel said.
"I'll just have to find out when the time comes." Chandler said going to the stairs. "Have fun!"
"I will!" Rachel said and looked at him. "Good luck." She said under her breath.
"Are you ready to go?" Monica said coming out of the ladies room."
"As ready as I'll ever be." Rachel said.
