"Its Always Something"

Ross walked by Chandler carrying the last box of Rachels gear. Chandler opened the door.
"This should be the last of it." Rachel said looking back into the room. "I can't believe I was here for an entire year."
"Me neither." Ross said grunting with the box. "Is it possible shes leaving with more stuff than she came in here with?"
"Definately possible." Chandler nodded.
"Well I hope she didn't cramp your style in any way." Ross said as Rachel joined him at the door.
"Oh no. First I'd have to get a style for her to cramp." He smiled. "It's not a problem."
"Well, I'll see you later!" Rachel reached over and gave Chandler a big hug. "Just cause we're not living together anymore means we're not gonna be close."
"I know that." Chandler said. "You sure you guys don't need any help over at Ross's loft?" He asked hopefully.
"We'll be fine." Ross said. "We have an elevator over there you know." Ross said as he left with Rachel. She looked back at him a minute then followed Ross down the stairs. Chandler leaned heavily against the door frame of his apartment door. He sighed.
"And so ends the era of Chandler and Rachel." He shook his head and re-entered his apartment.

Rachel opened the door to Ross's apartment and looked around. She sighed and walked around while she took it all in. Sure she had been there overnight before but now she was here to stay. Perhaps for good. She felt this way when she stayed in Monicas apartment for the first time when she moved in with her friend so many years ago. Now Monica was her sister in law. So much changes! So many things happened to them. It was a wonder that none of them had appeared on Oprah or Jerry Springer.
She opened a box and unpacked a favorite Fabergie doll and placed it on the shelf next to a dinosaur bone.
"Hey, honey? Just a second." Ross intercepted Rachel as she tried to arrange the stuffed bear around the bone.
"What? Don't you think that looks good there?" She smiled.
"Yeah....well...uh.." Ross squirmed in his penny loafers.
"What? You said on the way over I could make myself at home. This is what I'm doing?" she smiled. "That IS ok right? After all I'm a permanent guest here now." She said as she put her arms around Ross's neck.
"Uh yeah. But I was hoping we could work out a whole scheme of where things could be." He pointed at the bear. "Like that, I mean its a cute bear. And its your bear which makes your even cuter." He said pinching her cheeks. "But theres a better place for it." He took it off the shelf. "Why dont we put it, oh, well, here..." He put it back in the box. "We can go upstairs. Have a little, hmm hmm, and then we can come back down and we can plan this out. Agreed?" He asked.
"Sure," Rachel said as he lead her to the stairs.
"Great." He said as they walked up the stairs.
"That's funny." Rachel thought. "Chandler didn't tell me where to put my things."

Chandler finished blowdrying his hair in the bathroom. He was brushing it back with his hands when he heard a rustling sound behind him. He turned quickly and opened the door.
No one.
"Hmm." He said, sneaking out on tip toe. Did Rachel come back? Impossible. Her entourage of clothes and baggage would be with her.
"Hello?" He said out loud.
"Chandler!" Monica came out of Rachels old room. She had her hands behind her back. "How are you this fine evening?"
"Great." Chandler said. "What are you hiding?"
"Me? Hiding anything?" She said pushing her hands behind her back. "I'm not hiding anything back here. You must be kidding. Yeah. Kidding." Monica stammered.
"Ok, so whats up?" Chandler said. "Oh heres the five bucks I owe you."
"Great." Monica said reaching out with one hand. Something made a dull thud in back of her. Chandler looked at her. She smiled uneasily and tried to spin fast to pick something up. Chandler stepped fast and beat her to it.
"A measuring tape?" He asked holding it up to her. "Why? What are you doing with a measuring tape?"
"Uh, well." Monica said. "I was hoping I could move into Rachels old bedroom."
"Really?" He asked.
"You know the neighborhood I live in. It's crummy." She said. "Plus I wanted to beat Joey to it. Since he lost his job he has to look for new digs."
"And where is Joey?" Chandler asked.
"I shoved him in the closet." Monica said. "Man, you got to get the lock fixed on that." She said as she watched Joey walk up behind Chandler.
"Hey." He said startling Chandler.
"So you both want it?" Chandler asked.
"Yeah." Monica said. "So, whats it gonna be?"
"You expect me to just choose?" Chandler asked.
"Basically..." Joey thought. "yeah." He nodded.
"Great." Chandler said. "The dust isn't even settled in there yet." He shook his head. "Give me a minute."
"Ok but just a minute. We're both double parked." Monica said.
"Not anymore." Joey said. "Your car was just towed."
"What?" Monica ran to the window.
"Psyche! Now you can give the apartment to me." He smiled at Chandler.
"Ok, we got to do this the fair way." Chandler said.
"Fair?" Joey whined.
"Hey, its my way or no way." Chandler said waving his hand.
"Ok." Monica said.
"Have a seat." Chandler said."This could be a while."

"The honeymoon suite"

Rachel sat in the couch next to her box. Ross had somehow found a chalkboard in his apartment and was now making a diagram of all things to where all of her things would go in the apartment.
"So your teddy bear, would go over here." He explained with his pointer stick. "Any questions?"
"Yes?" Rachel raised her hand. "Why do I still feel like a guest with the man who I'm gonna be with for the rest of my life?"
"Well." He thought for a second. "You're right. I'm being a real jerk. After all this is our place now, not just mine." He came over to her on his knees. "You can place your teddy bear anywhere you want to."
"Really?" Rachel asked. "I can put my things anywhere I want to?"
"Sure."
"Ok. I'll put my things in my room. When I'm up there I can throw down a blanket for you."
"Why a blanket?" He asked stupidly.
"So you can sleep on the couch. Over there." She said. "Unless you got a problem with that."
"Nope." He said quietly.
"Good." She said squeezing his cheeks with her forefingers. She walked up the stairs.
Ross looked at her as she went into the bedroom. "Ok, I deserved that." He said. He didnt even move when she threw the blanket and pillow at him. He put the blanket down. "Oh, a pillow. Shes not as mad at me as I thought."

Chandlers Place

"Ok guys. Heres the rules." Chandler said. "Coin toss. Very easy. Even for Joey here."
"Monica, that ok with you?" Joey asked.
"Sure." Monica said.
"Call it in the air." Chandler said flipping the coin.
"Heads!" Monica yelled.
"Tails!" Joey said.
The coin looped in the air, then it plopped on the floor on its edges. Then it rolled over to the a small knothole and fell in. A small plunk echoed in the empty apartment below.
"2 out of three." Monica said.
"Thats fate talking." Joey said. "None of us are gonna move in."
"Then who is?" Monica said. "It's not like Rachel is gonna come back here. Or is she?"
She looked at Chandler. He had no answer for her.
