"Uninvited Guest"

The sun peeked into the window of Rachels cabana. She had forgotten to close the window last night so the floor was slightly wet, but not wet enough to be slippery. Rachel opened her eyes and rolled over half expecting to be alone. But not today. There was Ross lying there besides her. He had crashed there during the night. There was a lot of potential for romance and a lot more as they walked home in the rain shower that started after they meet on the boardwalk. They had decided against doing anything last night. It was too soon after the "wedding" to do anything. It might have seemed like they were moving too fast.

Rachel sat up on the bed. She stretched then bent over and shook Ross awake.
"What?" Ross said.
"Get up vacationguy." Rachel said.
"What for? I got everything I need right here." He said turning over to look at her.
"Last I knew I didnt have anything to eat in bed." Rachel said getting up. "I'll cook you breakfast."
"No thanks." Ross said. "If its all the same to you I better get back to my hut and get something there."
"Is that some crack about my cooking?" She said with her hands on her waist.
"No, I got some things to do." Ross said. "But here, heres an idea." He said taking her hand. "Meet me at the same place as we did yesterday. WE have got to talk." He said putting unnatural stress on the work "we".
"Well ok." Rachel said, a little bit alarmed. She walked him to the door and watched him leave. "We? What is he talking about?"

New York

Chandler was about to go to work when the phone rang.
"Hello?" He said picking up the phone on the counter.
"Hey," Rachel said.
"Rachel?"
"Yeah. They finally got the phones fixed here. Sorry it took so long. It feels like weeks since we talked last."
"It has been. The superbowl was just on." Chandler said switching off the tv. "Who won?" Rachel asked filing her nails.
"Oh who remembers? After the hype the actual winner is a bit of a letdown anyway." Chandler said. "Is Ross there in the islands?"
"Yea, we have connected sort of. He wants to meet me somewhere later." Rachel said matter of factly.
"Where?"
"Where we saw each other last night. On the boardwalk. I have no idea what he wants." Rachel said.
"I gotta go now." Chandler said after a lengthy pause.
"Me too. I'll see you in a week or two. Joey was right, this was the best place for me." Rachel said.
"I'm glad you're happy." Chandler said. "Bye."
"Bye." Rachel hung up her end.
Chandler lingered in the apartment for a bit, then walked out the door.

Sau Paolo

Ross cooked up breakfast at his cabana. He was making something of the little meat he could find in the cabana. To his knowledge he was making bacon and eggs. At least it looked like bacon and it was frying up right, like bacon. He put the steaming strips on a plate as a knock at the front door stirred him up.
"Just a second!" He said turning the eggs on the stove down a little. The bellboy came in. "Here. For you." He said handing Ross a bottle of vintage wine. "1967, are you sure thats such a good year?"
"Hey, if I wanted your opinion on wine I would ask for it." Ross said examining the bottle. "After all, it's my bottle of wine. I don't see why you should care."
"Pardon me, but if you want to impress your girlfriend, I wouldn't go for such a recent vintage. But then again. I'm just a bellboy. Why should my opinion matter?" The bellboy inched his way to the door. Inched? More like slithered. Ross thought.
"Hold it." Ross said and beckoned the bellboy with his finger. "Get me the best vintage on the island. Put it on my bill." He said rolling his eyes.
"Yes sir." The bellboy took the bottle and headed for the door. "One bottle of Sans Anthony 1932, right away."
"Thank you." Ross said returning to his "bacon".
"By the way, thats not bacon you're cooking. Processed bull testicles. Look like bacon, cooks like it but brother oh man its not bacon." He closed the door.
Ross took a second look at his entree. He cut off a piece and tasted it. He rolled it in his mouth then spat it back onto the plate.
"Yuck, I gave up Rachels cooking for this?" Ross sputtered throwing the rest out.

Rachel bit into a piece of fruit as she was surfing the net. It was an overripe peach left over from the large basket she had recieved last night. A blinking indicator flashed on her screen.
"I've got mail." She mused. She clicked athe mailbox icon and winched as it made a steel grating sound as the box opened."That was surreal and painful." She groaned. It was from Joey.

Rachel,
Its been a long time since we last talked. How are you? I hope you are not mad cause we sent Ross to be with you. Ross and Rachel. Its kind of like peanut butter and jelly with you, we think. Anyway, hope you are coming back soon, the kids are gonna start forgetting their auntie Rachel. Chandler is really in the dumps lately. I think he misses you a lot more than he says. See you soon.
Joey

Rachel erased the email, much like she did with the others she got from Joey. A knock came at her door.
The bellboy came in without invitation, much like lasttime.
"What? More flowers?" Rachel gasped at the two dozen tropical wildflowers he set in her lap.
"More flowers." The bellboy intoned. "And a singing telegram. Boy this guy should keep his day job, he can't rhyme if his life depended on it."
"Just sing it." Rachel said.
"Rachel my dear.
hope to see you on the pier
Our love is very dear....
Hoping at 6 you will appear...
Ross!"
"That wasn't that bad." Rachel chided the bellboy. "If you were a little less cynical you would be a lot happier."
"Well maybe." He said. "Whatever. I just work here." He handed her the telegram. "Enjoy or dont." He said turning to the door. Rachel stood up and put the flowers in a jug. "Oh if it don't work out, I'm in cabana nine." He winked as he left.

Rachel wore a light blue summer dress for the occasion. She arrived at the meeting place early.
"What does Ross want with me?" She murmered. She felt a light touch on her shoulder. She spun in her step almost stumbling on the ground. Ross caught her as she was about to slip.
"Falling for me?" Ross asked as he helped her up.
"Yeah." She said. He kissed her on the cheek. "What are we doing here?"
"I had an idea. We are in the most romantic place on earth. We are hundreds of miles away, why not get married here?"
"What?" Rachel said. "How would we do that?"
"Rachel, meet Father Steven." Ross pointed out a man dressed in a priests clothing. "If you want he will perform the ceremony right here."
"Oh my." Rachel said. "Would it be all right?"
"It's perfectly legal." Ross nodded.
"Sure, why not?" Rachel said smiling.
"Ok rev, go for it." Ross said taking her hand.
"Dearly beloved, we are here on this day to witness the wedding of Rachel Karen Green and Ross Geller. If someone, anyone has an objection to this union, please speak now, or forever hold your peace."
"Just a second." There was a voice.
"I'm suddenly feeling de'ja'vu." Rachel said. They turned to look.
"Mom? Dad?" Ross said.
"Well, hi!" Judy Geller said. "We heard that you came down here. Seperately of course but now we find you here getting married."
"What are you doing here?" Ross asked.
"We came here for a second, no wait third honey moon. We never expected to see you here." Jack said.
"But since we are here, we can be witnesses to this abrupt wedding of yours." Judy said. "I still don't see why you couldnt do it in the states. It cost so much money." Judy mused.
"The ceiling fell in, mom, do you remember?" Ross said.
"Would it be all right if we stayed?" Jack asked. "After all, we're already here."
"What do you think Rachel?" Ross asked.
"It'll be fine." Rachel said. "I think I'd make a bad impression if we told them to go away."
"Sure." Ross nodded.
"Ok where were we?" The priest said. "Ah, yes. Do you Ross Geller, take Rachel Karen Green, in sickness and in health, through richer or poorer, through good times and bad, till death do you part?"
Ross turned to Rachel. He looked into her eyes. "I do."
"Rachel Karen Green, do you take Ross Geller, in sickness and in health, through richer or poorer, through good times and bad, till death do you part?"
"I do." Rachel said not taking her eyes off of him.
"Do we have any rings?" Father Steven said.
"I'm not sure..." Rachel said as Ross took out a box from his pocket.
"We do." He said. "Dad would you mind holding my ring?"
"Sure." Jack said.
"Put the ring on her ring finger." The priest instructed.
Ross took Rachels ring and positioned it on her finger.
"Repeat after me. With this ring I thee wed."
"With this ring I thee wed."
"Rachel take Ross's ring please." Father Steven said.
Jack passed the ring to Rachel.
"Put the ring on his finger." He instructed. She did so.
"Repeat after me. With this ring I thee wed."
"With this ring I thee wed." Rachel said as she finished pushing the ring on. "By the power invested in me by the island country of Sao Paolo, i pronunce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride." He said.
"I love you." Ross said cupping Rachels chin with his hand.
"I love you." She said as they leaned in to kiss. Since Ross's mom and dad were present, they didn't kiss each other they way they would have had it been a solo ceremony.
"Lady and gentleman, I present to you Mr and Mrs. Ross and Rachel Geller." Ross and Rachel hugged Jack and Judy.
"Well, looks like you're finally in the family, kid." Judy said. "What took so damn long?"

New York

Chandler had crashed for a slight nap. He suddenly awakened with a burning sensation in his stomach. He went into his bathroom and took a long drink of water. After a minute the pain disapeared.
"What was that about?" He asked himself.
