"Earth Angel"

Monica was out working in the back of the restuarant when one of her waitresses ran back to get her. She looked up at the young lady, Erica a ambitious college student, as she rose from peeling potatoes.
"Ms Geller!" She said loudly. A little loudly, Monica cringed from the sound of her voice.
"Yes?" Monica responded after Erica caught her breath.
"Theres this man outside. He said he reserved the restuarant for the entire night and he ordered everyone out and he wants you to personally serve him and I don't know what do..." Erica nervously spout out.
"What? Calm down and talk like a normal woman." Monica asked. "I don't remember approving that kind of thing."
She tried to look at the restaurant as she approached the doors the seperated the dining room and the main kitchen area.
"It was Marcel, the reservation guy. I think he got bribed very easily. The restaurant is already empty and he is already looking at a menu. What shall we do?" Erica said.
"I think I'm gonna have it out with this jerk." Monica said untying her aprons strings, then throwing them. "Who the heck does he think he is?"
"Very rich and very powerful. My kind of man." Erica asid dreamily. "If thats all right with you ma'am, of course." She said blushing. "Corner table."
Monica took a quick look at Marcel who threw up his hands in a "what could i do?" gesture. The man had the menu in front of his face.
"Who do you think you are, pushing my staff around like that. If I had caught you doing it, you wouldd have been out of here like that." She snapped her fingers. The man gave no response. She sighed raggedly and took her notepad. "What wil you have sir." She said, emphasis on the word sir.
"Well." The man dropped his order menu. "I was thinking about you, me, and a little bottle of Champagne in a little boat on the Thames river watching the sun rise?" Monica heard a familiar voice say.
"I'm sorry, thats not on the menu." Monica looked up. She gasped. "Oh my god." She said dropping her notepad. "Pete."
"Hi Monica."
Saying nothing he rose and walked toward her. She stood silent. He took her hand.
"It's been a long time." He said as he lightly kissed the back of her hand.
"Too long." Monica said.
"After you get out of here. Do you want to go somewhere? The park, the bridge, Portugal?" He asked smiling.
"I'd like that." Monica said sighing.
"I'll be waiting." Pete said and left the restaurant. Monica watched until he left. Then she slid into a booth and sat down.
"I take it things went well?" Erica said walking by. "We can let the others back in now right?"

Chandlers place

Chandler grumbled in his restless sleep and rolled over. He muttered when he felt something sharp. It was a pin, attached to it a note.
"Chandler, I let you sleep in. Don't worry about me, Joey drove me in to my job today. See you later. Rachel."
He ran his hand over the smooth penmenship and placed the note on the nightstand, remembering to also put the pin next to it. Just so he wouldnt impale himself again on it. After a few minutes of more grumbling he finally fell into a deep sleep.

He felt himself walking in an immese hallway, decorated with exquisite art and paintings. He followed the hall into and more incredibly decorated ballroom. There was a band, with a singer who looked a lot like Alison. The room was full of dancers dancing in perfect synch with one another. It was fascinating to watch. He turned and saw the room had mirrors lined along side the walls. He had on a old fashioned tuxedo with a cane. He turned and liked what he saw. "Alison" started to sing, but he could not make out the words. But for some reason eh could feel the love radiating off of them. Thats when he heard the most wonderous sound of all.

Her voice.

"Chandler." He heard the voice say. He spun on his heel when he heard it. "Naomi." He breathed her name.
"It's me." Naomi said as he came to her.
"I thought I'd never see you again." He said reaching out to touch her face. She sighed and closed her eyes as his hands grazed the top of her skin.
"Me too." Naomi said. "I missed you."
"Do you want to dance? The floor might be a little...." He turned to look. The dancing couples and the singer were gone. "...crowded." He finished. "How did you do that."
"It's part of your dream. It just ended. I'm real, I'm also real dead but I'm real." Naomi said. "I wanted to see you again."
"I'm glad you did." Chandler said. "You've never explained hwo you are able to come to me when you want to."
"I have unfinished business on this earth." Naomi explained as the went to the middle of the dance floor. "As long as I have something on this earth to keep me here, I will remain. You know what it is, don't you?"
He nodded solemnly. "Your unsolved homicide." Chandler had found out that Naomi had died a year ago after he had met her in a gallery. It was one of the biggest shocks in his life; he was in love with a ghost.
"Yeah. Little things like that get in the way." Naomi said. She smiled. "Let's not think about that." She said. "We're together now. Thats all that matters."
"Yes." Chandler said and pulled her closer. He leaned down as she stodd on her toes. They were about to kiss when an alarm went off next to Chandlers bed. He woke up startled and looked at the clock.
Rachel had let him sleep in but then he also mananged to wake at the same time his alarm went off. He grumbled and got ready for work, suddenly feeling a new purpose to the day.

Later

Monica stretched and rubbed her back as she took off her chefs outfit. She started to dress again when she remembered that Rachel was coming to pick her up tonight for another girls night out. She was about to reach for a phone when Rachel came barging in the back door.
"Ready?" Rachel asked in her favorite mini skirt. "We are so gonna party."
"Change of plans, Rach." Monica said.
"What? I been planning this for days!" Rachel said whining. Then she thought for a second. "Does this have to do with that limo outside?"
"You saw a limo?" Monica said. "Yea, it has a lot to do with the limo!"
"You got a date! You rascal! I'm happy for you, even though now my only option since Ross is out of town is eating cold soup with the Chan Man. Who is it?"
"Pete!" Monica said.
"You're kidding right?" Rachel asked. Monica shook her head. "Great!"
"I know!" Monica sighed. "I gotta go. He's waiting for me."
"Good luck!"

Dinner

Monica and Pete were seated at a nice table near the middle of the restaurant. Monica wasnt so sure she wanted to go out and eat. After all she had spent all day in a restaurant, she didn't know if she could stand another hour.
"But I'm with you, the time should fly by." Monica said.
"Ok." Pete said as they got settled. "So tell me about you. What have you been doing all of these years?"
"Well I had a restaurant before, two actually, and they either burned down or got reposessed." She explained. "They even thought I did it, but I proved them wrong." Monica said.
"Soon after we broke up, I quit trying to be ultimate fighting champion." Pete said.
"You did?"
"Yea, well a five month coma gives you time to think." Pete explained. "I got back into business and now my company is even bigger than before." Pete took her hands. "Thats when I decided to come and find you. Monica I still love you. I was wondering if you felt the same way about me." He took out a little black box. He gave it to her. "I know its sudden but will you marry me?" He asked as Monica opened the box. The ring shone in her eyes.
Monica looked into Petes eyes. "I don't know. It's been an awfully long time since we have been here together like this."
"I know." Pete said. "Can you think about it? Don't give me an answer now. In fact, think as long as you need to. I will wait forever for you Monica Geller." Pete got up. "I don't think dinner would be right now. After all,I don't want to seem like I am pushing you to a decision now."
"Ok." Monica said and got up. They retrieved their coats and left.

Chandler and Rachels

Rachel opened the door. She saw Chandler eating a hungry mans dinner at the kitchen table.
"Hi!" She said brightly.
"Hey." Chandler looked up. "I thought tonight was girls nights out with you and Monica."
"It was but one of her stupid old boyfriends got in the way." Rachel said pouting.
"Old boyfriend?" Chandler asked.
"Yeah. Petes back in her life." Rachel said. "Isn't that nice when things come together all nice like that?" Rachel put her purse on the table. "Tell me about your day. I havent seen you at all."
"I had a dream about Naomi." Chandler said.
"Oh?" She asked. "What about?"
"We were in this ballroom and we were dancing. She told me that she has unfinished business on Earth. Thats the only reason why she is able to come and see me." He said.
"Wow." Rachel said. "That must be nice."
"I know. Which makes my decision even harder." Chandler said getting up. He went over to the window.
"What decision? What are you talking about?" Rachel asked him following him over.
Chandler rested his arm on the window pane. "I'm gonna solve Naomis murder. I have to. Her soul needs to be at peace. And as great as a boyfriend I could be, she wont ever be happy till she finally rests in peace."
"How are you gonna do it?" Rachel asked.
"I have no idea." Chandler admitted. "I never watched Hill Street Blues as a kid."
"You realize, of course, that if you do manage to solve this year old mystery, that you will never see Naomi again."
"I know. But it feels right." Chandler said as Rachel hugged him around the waist. "Its the right thing to do."
Chandler looked out the window, toward the stars, where the true love of his life floated above him.
"Its the right thing." He said to himself.
