"Passion"

"Guess what?" Rachel said the minute she called Monica. She didnt even let her get in a hello.
"What?" Monica said.
"Chandler asked me to marry him!" She cried.
"Its about time!" Monica said. "I was wondering how long it would take for him to do it since you been back together."
"It was totally unexpected." Rachel said. "And he gave me this wonderful ring."
"I wanna see it!" Monica said.
"Thats why I called. I was hoping we can could get together and plan the wedding." Rachel said. "Chandler wants to have it as soon as possible."
"Understandable." Monica nodded. "Well come over tomorrow at five. Sunday."
"Thanks." Rachel said.
"I got a whole slew of bride books from my mom." Monica said. "She doesnt seem to think I will use them but I'll show her!"
"I'll see you then." Rachel said and hung up. Chandler snuggled up next to her.
"I don't know why we have to have a whole big affair. Why not a small wedding? Just a few friends?" Rachel said.
"I want you to have a memorable wedding to me." Chandler said. "It doesnt matter how many people are there, just as long as you are. Ok?" He kissed her on the lips.
"Okay." She said. Rachel got up. "I got a long day tomorrow. Who knows what Monica will come up with."

Sunday

Monica drove Rachel downtown in her new car. With all the she had earned from the new restaurant, she was able to get a nice deal on a not so new car. It was a 98 Saturn she had her eyes on for a while. Plus she was getting sick of the trains she usually rode on. They seemed to have something new on them everyday.
"Where are we going? I thought we were going to go to your place and the mountain of bridal magazines." Rachel asked as they turned a corner.
"The minute I told Joey you and Chandler were getting married Greta got on the line." Monica explained. "She has a great designer friend of hers who owes her a favor...or two... or five. She said she would get ahold of him and get us an appointment, save us the trouble of searching for a wedding dress."
"That's great." Rachel said.
"Also he specializes in the last minute nuptials! Thats where she got the dress for her own wedding." Monica said as they pulled into a very lavish looking driveway. There was an extravagent house at the end of it.
"He lives here?" Rachel asked as they got out.
"Oh yea. If he gets ideas during the night he comes right downstairs." Monica said.
"You certainly know a lot about him."
"I'm just rattling back what Greta said." Monica pointed. "There she is." Greta waved at the window.
"Come on in darlings! You'll freeze to death!" Greta said opening the door. "Oh Rachel honey, many congrats to you and Chandler. It's so wonderful!"
"Thanks." Rachel said returning her hug.
"I want you to meet Tony." Greta said as she took both their hands. "Ooh your cold! Come in here, he has a fire burning in the fireplace."
"Wheres this Tony?" Monica asked.
"Funny you should ask." Greta said. "He was here a minute ago, and now hes gone."
"Well maybe you can tell us about him." Rachel offered.
"Gladly!" Greta said. "Tony used to work on the soap opera with me and Joey. He did costumes, and they were great! But the network didn't see it that way and they fired him."
"How mean." Rachel said.
"I know!" Greta said. "Anyhoo he had enough money in the bank so he started his own business around a year ago. He doesnt do one specific thing either, he does weddings, awards shows. Just about anything you need something glamourous for." She said.
"Hello ladies and welcome." Tony said coming down a spiral staircase. "Sorry I disapeared. I just had another idea and I wanted to get it down before I forgot it. You know the creative mind, always working on something else!" He came over to the girls. "And you must be Rachel. The bride to be." He said taking her hands. "I must offer my deepest congratulations." He said.
"Thank you." Rachel said.
"Before we talk about design we have to talk about size. I must size you up."
"Well I'm a..." Rachel started.
"No no, not physical size." Tony corrected quickly. "I mean like soul, spirit. What kind of dress here would fit you as a person." Tony said. "Oh I have just the thing."
Tony dashed off into a corner.
"Is he always this...exuberant?" Monica asked.
"He's just very excited about his work. He is a very happy guy." Greta said.
"Great." Rachel said. "I'm almost afraid of this perfect dress he has for me." She muttered to Monica under her breath.
Monica smiled.
"Here we go." Tony said. "Now I know you may be a tiny smaller than this size but its perfect."
Tony held up a sleek white dress. it had lace bunched up at the top but then it flowed free down. It looked like the kind of dress Rachels mom would have worn in the 60's. Tony was right, she was in love.
"Oh my." She said.
"I think we have our seal of approval." Tony said. "I will have it ready in a week. We'll just do a fitting before you go." Tony said and ushered Rachel over to the dressing room. Tony then left.
"I'm glad we came." Monica said. "She looks so happy."
"I know." Greta said. "I always knew he had that human touch."

"So whos coming to the wedding?" Rachel said as she talked with Chandler. He had done invite duty.
"Let's see. Mon, Ross, Joey and Greta, Phoebe and the babies. Alison and Wesley if they can make it. It will be pretty close to the due date." He looked at Rachel. "You look like you have something on your mind."
"I do. I don't want a huge wedding." Rachel said. "The last one was hard to put together and I didn't even go through with it. Now I have the right man, and the right dress but the thought of going to another church, another 3 tiered wedding cake, makes me a little woozy."
"What do you want to do?" Chandler said.
"I don't know. Maybe we can elope." Rachel said.
"Yeah." Chandler paused. "Would you like to go to Vegas?"
"The last time we went to Vegas I married Ross."
"Yeah but you were tanked."
"Thats true."
"This time when we go, we will be marrying the right people."
"Yeah?" Rachel said.
"Yeah."
"Hmm." Rachel said. "Round up the gang, call the airport, we have a spontaneous wedding to go to!"
