Windy city

Rachel woke up in a chill. She rubbed her arms as she got out of bed. She went to the window. It was a lot colder than she thought it would be up in Chicago. She wrapped a blanket aropund herself while she cursed herself for not having the good sense to bring some clothes when she dashed to the airport last week. Chandler had promised to take care of her clothing but with all the meetings he had to go to, it wasn't possible. Rachel had gone shopping herself but somehow forgot to get the essentials for the weather, even though it threatened to snow at any moment.

Rachel had gone to the airport to be with Chandler before he left for Chicago. She, after all this time, decided to be with him. Ross just plain didnt work out. And it never would, she realized.

Rachel turned to the door as it opened. Chandler had several giftboxes.
"I wondered why the bed was so empty this morning." She said as Chandler put the boxes on the bed.
"I had to get you something warm." Chandler said touching her bare arms. "You are cold. I have to talk to management."
"Don't worry about it. I feel better now that you are here with me." She looked at the boxes. "Whats this?"
"Are you ready for this? Flannel nightgown." He said opening the box. He pulled it over her head.
"Oooh. Soft and sexy." Rachel said as he kissed her on the head. "You really are too much."
"I know." Chandler held her again. "But is there really such a thing as too much?"
"I totally agree." Rachel said.
"Come on." Chandler said giving her another box with a warm cardigan sweater. "I have time to do that walking tour with you."
"Groovy." Rachel said. "I'm gonna change in the bathroom."
"Why not here?"
"Uh uh." Rachel said poking her head out of the bathroom. "No free peaks, Mr Bing." She smiled. "Maybe later."
"Oooh." Chandler said and threw his briefcase on the bed. "God, this is perfect. Business and pleasure on the same trip."

The Airport
Ross Geller got off the plane with a single piece of luggage. He looked around a bit and found the person he was waiting for. A limo driver held a sign with his name on it. He gave his luggage to the driver and got in.
"North Century Plaza." Ross said checking his watch. "And step on it."

North Century Plaza

Rachel pulled on her blue sweater with her jeans.
"How do I look?" She asked waiting for Chandlers inspection.
"Pretty as a picture." Chandler said. "Come on. I got the whole day for me and you."
"Too bad we won't be home for halloween." Rachel said. "It is tomorrow and everything. I just no dumb kid throws eggs at your door or anything stupid like that."
"Thats ok. It couldnt look any worse than it does right now." Chandler said. "I hope to move out into a better place."
"All it needs is a coat of paint... and someone willing to do it." Rachel said. "I don't see me and you painting anything all."
"Yeah." Chandler said He looked up at the traffic. A limo pulled into the front of the hotel plaza.
"Snazzy ride." Rachel said.
"Really. I wonder who...." Chandler said squinting. "Oh my god."
Ross got out of the limo without his bag and went into the hotel. The limo waited while Ross came out with a woman about his height and with slightly shorter hair.
"Who is that?" Rachel asked.
Ross helped her into the limo and it drove away.
"Beats me." Chandler said. "He seemed to recover quick, no offense to you."
"None taken." Rachel said thinking for a second.

At the hotel near the amusement park Rachel was getting ready to leave. It was after she had gotten back from the tunnel of love with Chandler. Ross came in.
"I need to go do some errands." He said grabbing a little money.
"Errands? Here?" She asked.
"Yeah." Ross said. "It won't take long."
"Ok." Rachel said.

"Ross was acting weird when we were on the way back to New York too." She said after explaining all this to Chadnler. "He seemed to change his mind about marrying me really fast."
"Too fast if you ask me." Chandler said. He thought for a minute. "Wouldn't the doorman know where hes going?"
"If the woman with him was a guest, maybe." Rachel said.
"Let's go see." Chandler said as they walked over to the doorman.
"Excuse me sir?" Rachel asked. "Do you know who that was that got into the limo just now, with the man?"
"Hmmm. Let's see." He thought.
"Is she a guest?" Chandler said secretly handing him a 20. Rachel blinked twice at the action, but said nothing.
"Regina Forrester." He replied easily taking the bribe. He hide it in his gloves. The job must not pay much so he took what he could get. "Ms Forrester went with this man you spoke of. She told me they are going to La Operato Ristorante."
"Do you know how to get there?" Rachel asked looking at Chandler.
"How should I know?" He replied.
"It would be better to wait." The doorman advised. Ms Forrester said she to expect her back at eight o'clock."

Rachel and Chandler went back up to their room. The doorman had told her that this Regina was right across the hallway from their own room.
"How handy can that be?" Chandler asked as they parked themselves next to the door so they could monitor it. They had spent an hour or so walking around in the park, then it began to snow lightly. They had decided to go back inside. It was now eight o'clock. Chandler and Rachel were getting restless and hungry.
"When will she come back?" Rachel asked.
"Soon. Hopefully she brings Ross with her." Chandler said.
"I wonder why shes with him." Rachel asked.
"We'll hoepfully find that out." Chandler said. There was a sudden knock at the door. They both jumped back. Rachel looked through ther eyehole.
"It's Ross and her." Rachel said.
"Move the chairs." Chandler quietly instructed. They quickly moved the chairs back to the table. They looked at each and opened the door.
"Hi guys." Ross said. "Whatcha doing?" Chandler said.
"I got a important meeting here." Ross said. "The doorman said you were asking about Regina."
"That would be me." She said very stiffly. "I usually like it when people talk to me, when they want to find out who I am."
"I'm sorry." Rachel said.
"It's ok." Regina said. "And it's not what you think."
"What am I thinking?" Rachel asked.
"Ross told me all about it. You must think that he called off your wedding because we became a couple behind your back. But thats not true. Ross was an old colleague I met back at the amusement park. I invited him to dinner and he offered to pay."
"Thats why he came back to the room." Chandler said putting it together.
"He wanted it to be just friends but then..." She stopped.
"I relized that the old feelings I felt for you I felt much stronger for Regina now. But I decided once we got on the plane that we were gonna work it out or not at all." Ross said. "But somehow fate interfered and did it for us."
"He called me last week cause he was still a little shocked about the whole thing." Regina said easing up a a little. "I came over as a friend, and left as more. I live here, but when I heard he was coming, I jumped at the opportunity to give it a go."
"Thats wonderful." Rachel said.
"Yeah." Chandler agreed. "Looks like everything is working out great for us." Ross nodded. "We have to go." He said as he guided her to the hotel room. He waved at Rachel. She waved back.
They went into the room, and closed the door.
"Wow. weird how things turn out." Rachel said.
"Yeah." Chandler said. "Want to go have dinner now? I can almost eat a horse."
"I'm with you." She said.
